To clarify, the apocrine glands are responsible for all stinky sweat. And they develop around puberty, which is why little kids don't need a bath after P.E. The eccrine sweat glands, which help us regulate our body temperature, don't produce such yummy secretions for the bacteria.

So apocrine glands probably signal all sorts of emotional states? Arousal, etc? And if I'm understanding correctly they're responsible for pheromones.

Not that I understand any of this, mind you.
