You can get free software to remove all sorts of stuff that isn't viruses but which slows down your computer.

Sometimes that happens when your service is interupted, and you click on the warning box to continue working despite the service interruption. If that's the problem, pull down the file menu and click on "work online". Because some of your software lets you online, then the problem is likely in a setting in mediaplayer. Unfortunately, I know nothing about settings in that package.

Free and totally up-to-date virus and malware scanning. It takes a little while, but it would take about the same time for a technician to scan your computer. Think about it. There is no magic a technician can do to speed up a slow process.
