The family always has some sort of horrible hardship, and then it shows the little kids being so overwhelmed to have something nice. There was one where the little girl was looking at her room with this huge doll house and all these barbies, and after everyone gets through oohing and ahhhing she picks up one doll and says "Can I have this for X-mas Mama?" That just kills me! Its one of those 'happy for someone' cries, but its still exhausting and leaves me emotionally rung out.
