Okay Coppertops, time to make a choice, should you decide to pick up the challenge (to paraphrase Morpheus):
"This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes."
Actually, you take the blue pill and you get to lead a normal life. And I **do** mean NORMal, in the strictest normative statistical sense. Average job. Average salary. Average looks & personality. Average sponse and family. Average home. Average hobbies. Average take on how well the President is doing. Average height for your weight, or weight for your height.
Average degree of happiness and/or sadness and/or satisfaction. Welcome to the Matrix.
You take the RED pill, you get to stay as you are, knowing that you have a disability that can be fatal at times, but looking back through history it is the one thing for certain, at the least, that you have in common with some of the most artistic, talented, brilliant, inspiring people who ever lived ... and if you can survive yourself, perhaps you'll be one of them, too -- even if only to one other person.
I already know Kay Redfield Jameson's answer (and you do, too, if you read An Unquiet Mind ... and I just love her take on why she refuses to describe her condition as "bipolar" as opposed to "manic-depressive").
No, I don't know my answer. For certain. It changes.
