Jay, sorry it's so hard. It's so difficult when it seems like one thing goes wrong after another.
Your dad is strong enough to survive the first procedure. If the doctors say he's ready, then trust them that he's ready for the bypass.
I'm sending your family warm thoughts. This is a hard time, but you are all together. Also, be grateful that his blocked artery was discovered now. Too often blocked arteries are 'silent'. I'm glad that your dad's getting good care.
Give your mom a hug and hold her a bit, if that's your style. Sometimes human touch is more therapeutic than any amount of talking or clonazepam.
