There has *got* to be some way to stop them.

We have some go into our attic sometimes, and I absolutely refuse to believe that there's no way to seal a house off from the little (or in our case not so little) critters.

Yet the exterminator seems unable to come up with ideas. I just don't get that. A house is a building. It has an envelope. There are a few places where there are holes in the envelope, the bath trap, around the kitchen sink. I can't believe they haven't come up with some way to put something in those holes that can be removed when plumbing needs to done, but that keeps out filthy disgusting rats. (no offense to rat lovers)

We've got traps in the attic, and the exterminator comes and occasionally removes one. But that's just not good enough.

Our attic smells. :((((((( And I want to put up some energy efficient roof lining up there, and what's the point if rats are going to come eat it?

Since I wouldn't want to lock a cat or terrier in the attic, ratters just won't work.

One saw me once as he sauntered under the neighbor's house. He stared at me with the most insolent stare before turning and going on his way.
