Hi Nikki - Like Larry said, Melita makes a plastic cone shaped filter-holder that fits over a mug or cup...sits on top of the cup. You put the paper filter into it, put the finely-ground coffee into the filter, then pour boiling water over it. I'm a tea-granny myself, but I think Melita coffee probably tastes pretty good.
