Thanks milly!!!
Well, I have to say that it went alot better than I had expected.
The pdoc who I saw seemed to be quite nice, I mean as a person, and he was youngish and not at all like I expected!! I thought he'd be a stern, austere looking grump sitting behind a large desk. Not at all!!
We just talked about my previous symptoms/episodes y'know...it was very painful at times and things but he was good I have to say.
And yeah, the experience was positve! He prescibed me moclobemide (at my suggestion) and he was like 'very good choice' which was quite funny, like we were choosing a bottle of wine in a resaurant.
I asked him if 'there was anything that would help with my anxiety/panic' thinking he might take the bait and prescribe a benzo but no. He said the moc would take care of the anx/panic.
I'm to see him again in 4 weeks and he didn't think working would help, so he made a note to my GP to sign me off sick. I'm currently on 'job seeker's allowance' although I don't actually get anything money wise. Just NI credits.
I don't know if I can claim incapacity benefit. Who knows. I'll ask the GP. I don't know how it works.
Anyway I'm hoping moc will do something, although I don't really want to post on the med board because I don't want to jinx it if you know what I mean!!!!! Plus, you know, there might be abit of placebo response in there.
So anyway, how have you been - what are you doing this bank holiday???
Kind regards
Meri
