I just wanted to add that, although I understand where Ron is coming from, I, myself, don't have a problem with one-liners. I mean, I can see where one-line posters are coming from too.
The important thing for me is that nobody feels left out or isolated. So I'm verifying what both camps are feeling.
I've never been too comfortable with the "chat" aspect and usually shy away from the quick give-and-take conversations (one-liners). I still don't trust online relationships and keep my distance. (now I'm explaining myself and completely hijacking this thread)
I think I'm out of my comfort zone, posting at all. One personality profile pegs me as a "reformer" (enneagrams I think). I want to help, to fix the world, which might explain why I post in spite of my introversion.
I don't know why I feel compelled to explain. (that's why I'm using parentheses all the time) Once my pdoc said, "Do you know how much you hurt yourself when you do that?" and I realized how painful my habitual explaining really was.
Reforming is no fun either. I'm one of the worst reformers I've ever met, although I'm still an excellent backseat driver.
