Here @ PsychoBabbleAdmin - Deed Poll.

Before I changed it I was a lurker for a while and a long time before that was my previous posting name. One of the reasons I changed it, is because with my previous name I revealed too much personal information about myself. Perhaps another word to decribe it is paranoia, but, with the amount of information I had exposed myself with on here if someone in real life who knows me read it, theres a possiblity they would know who I am - not only that, but also could delve into my psychiatric medical history via the archives which I'd rather was kept confidential. The 'if' is one in a million and would probably never happen, but I feel more comfortable with the name change.
With my previous name, going back over year(s) now thinking about it, i'm now in a better position with my life so having a different name helps that I don't have to be reminded of the not so good parts of things before. I guess the memories of a manic depressive can vary greatly. Theres probably a psychological reason too. In real life however, my name always stays the same :-)
I guess thats one way where the 'net' world is similar with the real one in communication like this. At some stage, we are all at different comfort levels behind our screens, like the mask they say we wear in real life..
I used to think about people who change their names before on here, like was they x or y before? Whats the mystery behind the different name etc. Rest assured though, my reasons are nothing to do with posters or playing any mind games, its because of various factors away from the computer why I changed my name. Hope that helps.
