Grief is not silly. No matter our age, or what type of living creature, lesser, greater, small or large, it's felt over.
Grief just is what it is. You cared for him, you were connected, you felt love - now you've suffered a loss.
Grief's a big part of what it means to be a loving human being. We *have* to feel these feelings - sometimes later, but sooner may be healthier, and it's good to let them out through tears. When you say "I can't help it," well, no, you can't. And you shouldn't.
I'm sorry you have to go through this. Deneb's words are true, though. It'll get better. I'm learning all the sorts of grief I've felt and will feel do ease up eventually, even those times our hearts seem permanently broken. I believe the Creator wired us that way, to get past the pain of loss so we can go on and love some more...
Hang in there (((stickywicket)))
