I give it to my cats sometimes and they like it for about 3-4 minutes, then get bored. As they get older, they react less and less to it. This saddens me, because it was so fun to watch them leap and cavort around!

I don't THINK it's dangerous...can you ask your vet? The only thing that might be a problem is if the vendor "cuts" the catnip with another substance, and that might make a cat ill. For instance, I bought some cheap catnip once and I'm pretty sure there was shredded cardboard in it, or sawdust. If the cat ate that, it might have upset their stomach...
