Maybe this belongs on the grief board, but I figure anyone can do a ten for anyone else, whether they're with us or not. Or for themselves, of course. I'd love to see those.
1. He was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known.2. He was the first person I talked to when I left my first husband. He supported my decision without question. And he told me everything was going to be okay. He was right.
3. When I was young, he got me to believe that he did some sort of magic to get the traffic light to change from red to green.
4. His easygoing nature and gentle blue eyes.
5. He read the newspaper to me every morning when I was too young to read it on my own. Slightly edited for a young person’s ears, of course.
6. Our late night talks at the kitchen table through high school and college.
7. He shared all his books with me.
8. He spent the better half of his adult life doing volunteer work. He really taught me how to care about others.
9. The way he adored my son.
10. The way he held my hand and told me he loved me before he died.
