I listened to some of the rebroadcasts of the tributes paid to Rosa Parks. Compelling words. It is difficult to fathom just how different the American life was just 50 years ago, and frustrating to see how it is now. Like if it isn't on CNN or Fox, it isn't happening.
Someone at the funeral spoke about how poverty is the weapon of mass destruction that we should be afraid of. It is so true.

Since I stopped working I no longer have to listen to the daily evidence of racial prejudice. It is rife in all the places I've worked in so far in Florida. Truly, it is shameful.
