okay so maybe not *the* strangest. but pretty strange anyway.
there is this parasite thing. i think it is a kind of flatworm. it lives the first stage of its life cycle in the gut of a cow. then it gets pooped out and ingested by... a snail. a snail. i do believe thats right. then... it spends two generations in there... reproducing before being pooped out again...
then it gets interesting. the mass (the generation masses together) gets eaten by an ant. one of the parasite things leaves the rest of the mass and... makes its way up into the ants brain. then guess what it does????
well... nobodies sure how it does it but it alters the ants behavour so it spends lots of its time standing on the tip of a blade of grass.
and the point in that?
well... the ant (and the mass of its parasites) are that much more likely to be ingested by a cow.
!!!!!
