Yes, Canada is a very tolerant, somewhat caring country, but we where one of the first to enter WWII and liberated a number of places in Europe from the Nazi's. We didn't have a large Armed Forces, but some very self-less and intelligent people working with a small number of amazing soldiers. We also lost a lot of soldiers with such a small military. That is why Canadians are very respected in Europe. It's not because we are "better" than the U.S. or any other country, just that we where sorta the 'underdog', and Hell have no fury like many great Canuck soldiers, who also took down the Nazis in places in Italy, Russia, Germany, and many other places dotted through-out Europe. So...I hope I explained that right. :-)
WWII was supposed to be the "End of Wars", but sadly is not the case. So many, many young, brave soldiers and citizens died in the wreck of ruines of Europe. All of that horrid death, the Concentration Camps...did these people die in vain? That is a question we should put to all world leaders today. <sigh>
Peace,
Jay
