You sound like a reasonably confident, intelligent and "with-it" person. If you WANT to do the JD, then do it! If it turns out to be too much later on, well, that's the reason they have alternates. You can drop out if you need to.
Give it a try. You're a smart person and you'll be fine. I also think you'll be surprised at some of your fellow jurors and their possible lack of focusing ability.
