I'm no expert, but I'm pretty positive that smoking pot once would not cause long-term anxiety problems. Smoking pot excabrates my already-existing anxiety problems- i had bad trips and panic attacks when I smoked.
I don't think you should worry that your current anxiety was caused from getting high. Think of it as a learning experience! now you know to stay away from that stuff. Most people hate how it makes them feel.
have you ever seen a psychiatrist about these problems?
Is your anxiety pretty chronic? You asked if you will ever get better without medication? I can't answer that, I really think you should talk to a doctor. If not a psychiatrist, your family doctor. Medication does not always have to be taken long-term in order to HELP you long-term. Learning about what's actually causing your problems helps tememdously too; from there you can learn what you can change to help.
you said: >At times I just feel as if my reality is different, I feel weird. An overwhelming sense of fear comes over me and I feel like I can't handle what is happening.
this sounds a bit like a panic attack to me. Like i said, you should really see a doctor.
anxiety can cause a lot of stange symptoms, like "reality being different", but luckily, its often pretty easy to treat.good luck.
