I, too, am upset, and sorry others are upset in this recent incident. I'm here to add my support for DocJohn at Psychcentral. He has been quite supportive for not just me, but for members at PC, over and over again. It is evident that he protects PC, and thus us members, quite adamantly. It must be a "safe" site because, yes, many members are "fragile" so to speak.
PC is a great support site. Yes, we deal with mental unwellness, but in all, it is a microcosm of the world. We are not our illnesses, but humans struggling to heal. Please don't judge the entire PC site, and members, by one forum that you might have visited/posted, and not even by a few members with which you might not agree.
DocJohn is constantly upgrading the site, making it more user friendly, giving in to our requests for more this and that... he gives his time to host a Tuesday night chat, made especially for those wishing to ask questions along the mental health aspect. That's more than some ppl's therapists do!
I have also had a private message Posted, and it's unnerving to say the least. It's considered a breach of human ethics, mores of society, "gentleman's agreement" or whatever term one chooses to give it. To be a victim of such, ....well.... we all show our "humanness", don't we? I hope it never happens to anyone else, here nor there.
IMO, it's nice to know DocJohn is human. He has every right to be upset and speak out. I doubt I would have been so kind in the use of words. In fact, it 's just a good thing I'm not God, as it would be POOF POOF POOF all over the place. ;)
Just thought you'd wanna know.
