Bipolar and non verbal learning disorder

Posted by capricorn on August 7, 2004, at 9:35:18

Is there any connection /co morbidity between mood disorders like bipolar/schizoaffective and non verbal learning disorder which is i believe a 'close cousin' of asperger's?
I am asking because although my dx is a bit up in the air ie ? over the bipolar/schizoaffective i have been precribed mood stabilisers for years but also experience definite social interaction problems/executive functioning ( organisational, thinking things through, critical thinking etc) problems and have significant verbal ability greater than performance/vis spatial ability.
With regards to the social interaction i have had only real friend as an adult and find it hard to initiate conversations/ have problems with more personal type conversations ie 'chatty' type conversations.
