just need to vent a little here.
fyi- mother is MAJOR anger trigger so i'm not going to add to this post about mothers cuz i wouldn't stop (besides that would take two years to cover the hurt here) but i needed to vent a bit.friday evening my mom and pops dropped by for a few minutes. my dad went to talk with my husband about something real quick so mom came over to me...(d@mn it, i didn't run in the house quickly enough...) so she mentioned her hair appt. and i (made the mistake of)telling my mom i was going to color my hair at my next hair appt -first mistake of trying to have a normal conversation with her regarding ANYTHING personal! and was trying to describe the color. i had to mix two colors to get the one i wanted so i described the first color i said "it had a red/copper highlight but the base color was lighter than i normally color it, a light brown and..."(she butted in here and said) -as she tilted her head back- "Oh thank God" ...gee mom why don't you tell me what you really think?? (as she added a few more 'comments')
but then i said well the other color is REEEEALLY dark...almost BLACK! (hehe -just to stab back) Just cuz she always dies her hair SUPER light with blonde highlights (which doesn't look all that great on her) i guess she thinks mine needs to be blonde too.
i personally think she's got some shame issues of her roots (ethnic not folical) and that's why she's been coloring her hair for as long as we've lived in this midwestern state. assimilations a b#tch.
i am a plain brunette but i like the med ash brown colors (a darker brown-almost chocolate like) it matches my dark eyes....you know..you'd think id'of learned by now. though it really is laughable to me, it SOOOO didn't suprise me, besides i've learned to kick em right back. Luckily she can't trigger depression (cuz i don't give a flying f@#$ what she thinks of me, i stopped that when i was 11) though that doesn't mean i don't feel a little sting.
but she can shove her opinions of me straight up her.. (sorry dr.bob, i really am trying to be civil here) -gee, can you see the slight anger trigger popping up here??anyway, just wanted to vent that out. thanks for listening...and btw i am LOVING my color!!
it is a Beautiful dark brown with slight reddish tint and i think i love it more after hearing *her* say that! (i know it's childish but i'm allowing myself that today.)b2c.
