Hearing Willie Nelson sing "Blue eyes Crying in the Rain" takes me back to my FIRST divorce"...my stomach actually reacts to that melody.....that album was the rage then.......James Taylor singing " Mexico" also.....Leon Russell "Lady Blue".......causes me to "see" the little apartment that I moved to...so scared and lonely...family disowned me...thought it was better to live with an alcoholic than without~~~~Ryan Adams~~"Touch, Feel & Lose" sick with Rocky Mountain Spotted Tick Fever....72 hr headaches, chills..on isolated ranch with my daughter..wolves howling at night...isn't it something how a melody or a fragrance can instantly transport us to another place, time, person, etc.? The entire 13 years that I was married to my first husband I was not "encouraged" to listen to any music other than country....so at the age of 31, I "discovered" Joe Cocker, Leon, J.J. Cale, Elton John, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and others....(Can you imagine my feelings when I went to my first Dylan concert...the kohl, the electric guitar, the joy!!)I was FREE to listen to whatever I wanted. Music played a huge part of my meeting second husband and marrying him....interesting side note...Willie didn't like first one but approved of second one....that was one of the reasons that I went to work for him. He rocked!!!! (I'm not with second now....he didn't rock...we just thought that he did)
