Sometimes I feel something similar from my depersonalization.
It happens often in malls because they have glass doors. I will be walking towards the door, see someone on the other side of the door, walking towards me ... and its only when I'm like 1 foot from the door that I'll realize its actually me. Sometimes I just don't recognize myself ... I've scared myself silly quite a few times with those blasted mirrors and windows.
