Hey all,
I'd be surprised if anyone here remembers me... I am an occasional lurker on the psycho-babble forum and posted a bit until I realized that I wasn't very welcome and was turning out to be a bit of a trouble-maker in the eyes of the more regular posters. Nevertheless, I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in joining my new web-board, dreams for a final electron acceptor.
I quote myself as follows to describe the board:
"Oxygen is the final electron acceptor in human cellular respiration. This is it's function, it takes the energy that was just used and takes it away, so that it won't be in the way of new energy coming through. You can make metaphors with different emotional states... or you could just be thinking like I was that the doc's got you pretty convinced that you need your Lamictal and lithium just as much as your average man needs his oxygen gas, and all experience tells you that you are breathing an inferior atmosphere but it's the only one you got open to you anymore.
This site is intended as a support and discussion group for those suffering from depressive disorders, eating disorders, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, chronic pain syndromes... you know who you are, the disenfranchised children of Paxil, the patient that went in with high hopes because we know so much about serotonin and how raising serotonin will help raise-- our hopes falsely, as wonder drug after wonder drug is wonderfully good at messing up your life and the wonder of it is how this thing got approved by the FDA, and that pesky little thing that was nothin' a little serotonin couldn't help turns out to be oh-so-much more than you'd have guessed so now you can scarcely tell *if* you're breathing let alone what the atmospheric content is like.
My background is in pro-ana as far as these types of boards go and i can generally be prevailed upon to support freedom of speech... *BUT* this board is not intended to help you get more sick, and you will be quickly BANNED if you seriously and intentionally jeopardize the well-being of other posters. This board is a place where we may say, whoah take a step back and look at what you are doing, but pushing therapy on someone will not be tolerated. Equally, pushing them away from help will also not be tolerated.
A major focus of this group is art and writing and other creative media that help you express or otherwise process your issues.
Philosophies and spiritualities and the problems and assisstances they offer to your condition are discussed.
Above all: HUMOR. I firmly believe that what cannot be laughed at is evil at it's essence.
