DaisyM, I wear a size 6 1/2 and never find sale shoes! They always seem the most popular size at Norstrom in the City. {{sigh}} maybe you'll have to tell me your secret shopping spots.
By the way, that's 6 1/2 B, and I'm 5'9".
As for shoes, in general, I am a major supporter of Capezio's for comfort, especially when you have to be on your feet for any length of time, and for the fact that they seem to last *forever* -- my t-straps are just as comfortable after 16 years as they were day one, and still look good (well, after a quick polish they still look just as good as new.) Capezio has some great styles, just check their site for the Tap shoes. They've got some way cool strappy sandals, and since most of their shoes are built for professional dancers, they're engineered for comfort and ergonomics. At least, I can tell you that I've worn my Capezios to work on days I know I'll be walking around and giving speeches, and still been able to drive home with my shoes on. To me, that says it all!
Oh, yeah, and I still have several dozen other sorts of shoes, but I love my Capezios best. I think they're chic, and unusual enough to be way hot. Even after 16 years.
Post pix of what you end up getting. Maybe it'll inspire me...
