I know this is kind of random, but the e-mail I got right before yours was from a friend of my family with a flat to rent. Obviously, if you already have a place that you like then disregard this but for the four of you, well, I just thought I'd pass it along since I literally read it 1 minute before I read your post. Anyway, here it is:
Precita Avenue (right across from the Cultural Center) in Bernal Heights. A flat has become vacant, and we are embarking on a total renovation. It will be available March 1, and we would love to rent it to friends, or friends of friends. Here are the details.
* Three bedrooms or two with double parlor
* High ceilings
* One bath
* Sunny, large rooms
* Central heat with thermostat
* Small deck
* Eat-in kitchen
* Shared landscaped, large backyard
* New carpet and flooring throughout
* Freshly painted
* New appliances, including dishwasher, in the kitchen
* New cabinets and double sink in the kitchen
* New fixtures in the bathroom
* New light fixtures throughout
* Decent closet space
* Small room could be home office in the back
* Storage available in the garage
* Good neighbors up and down
* One flight up in secure buildingWe are asking $2500/month.
Please pass this on to anyone who might be interested. They can email at willdorf at ix.netcom.com me or call at 415.586.1350.
All the best,
Bonnie
I know it's kind of expensive, but I think it's pretty normal for a three bedroom in a safe neighborhood. The downstairs neighbor is my oldest friend in the world who is an acupunturist and has been such a blessing for me throughout this "illness." Your husband could also take the 14 or 49 bus downtown or to civic center, or wherever he works.
I know what you mean about getting dinner on the table, the last few months have been just about getting out of bed for me. But thankfully, I've found meds that work well for me. And, of course, a therapist that I just love to death.
Good luck with getting prepared for the move. Do you have friends who can help you? I've found that, for me, putting some good music on really loud helps me get motivated. But that's just for doing the dishes (which I've probably done 3 times in the last 3 months) but it might work for packing too. Like I can talk, I'm sitting in our bedroom literally surrounded by laundry. We make sure Rosalie has clean clothes, but for us we just dig through the piles. Pretty pathetic. And in the midst of this, I'm trying to plan a wedding! Well, at this point, as long as it doesn't rain on April 3rd, I don't care what else happens. The only upside is that with not being able to eat for so long, I've actually lost weight and will actually feel comfortable in a wedding dress, I think.
Anyway, we have a friend over and I'm hiding out in the bedroom so I'll say goodnight. Oh, last night I didn't fall asleep until almost midnight, had terrible nightmares, and Rosalie woke up screaming at 7am. I think I did jinx myself. So tonight I guess I'll take what I can get. Goodnight.
