I have had dealings with p/a people in the past. One of them I was was quite close to at one time, but I bluntly called him on it whenever it happened. As for a co-worker, I usually just ignored it, sometimes blantantly brushing off really unfavorable comments (but only when it got really bad). When it comes to working with someone like that, it can be very tough to be PC and yet not let the person get the best of those around them. As I have seen your posts before I know you are very intelligent and thoughtful and will probably handle the co-worker a lot better than I would.
