Europeans have always used them and don't bat an eyelash about it. But true to form, this American commercial tried to play down all references to anything bodily (with tacky euphimisms like "cleanliness and freshness") and be so PC, it got nausiating! Kind of strange that people will gladly wear jeans in this country that show almost the entire crack of one's behind, but even the mere mention of something bodily will send people grimacing toward the exit! When I was over in Britain, I saw a laundry detergent commercial which touted the ability of the brand to remove "biological stains", while a woman held up a pair of man's underwear. Seems a practical application of detergent, if you ask me, but you'd never see anything like that over this side of "the Pond".
