"Winged Migration", the previews talk about it being a study in the migration of birds, the scenery was beautiful. My building principal saw it and loved it. I didn't, I wasn't sure I would like all that flying.
"Whale Rider", absolutely terrific wonderful story about generations in a Maori family (watered down synopsis--also women' rights?)
"The Swimming Pool", another artsy film. I really enjoyed it, a British mystery author with a "block" takes her publicist(with whom she seems to have had more than just a business relationship) up on his offer to use his villa in France to get "unstuck". What she winds up writing is basically the plot of the movie. Great film with an interesting ending.Another great movie was the "Rabbit Fence" (Ithink). It takes place in rural Australia and the conflict with"Mixed blood" children. Really great film. It made me so angry about how disruptive government can be.
I can never tell one actor from the other so when I saw "Pirates of the Caribbean", I didn't even know who Johnny Depp was in the movie. He's not as cute as I was led to believe but the movie was great!
