Hashimoto's Thyroiditis

Posted by Micaela on August 23, 2003, at 17:21:13

I have been recently diagnosed with Hashimot's. I am looking for someone who knows about this disease. Maybe someone who can tell me what they have experienced before, during and after diagnosis and treatment. I am feeling things I have never felt before. I need to know if these feelings are "normal" for this condition, or if it really is all in my head. I feel very paranoid. Especially about the treatment with Synthroid. I was supposed to start them last week, but I can't seem to get past this paranoid feeling that something bad will happen if I take them. I also can't seem to eat normally. I have to force myself to eat. I am really scared. I need help. I don't know what I should do. Please help me. I got this condition as a result of post-partum thyroiditis after having my daughter. I began to have symptoms of hyperthyroidism back in April. I was on atenelol for rapid pulse only. Then I began to feel normal, like myself. Now, I feel like crap all of the time. Tired, aggitated, borderline nuts.
