It does take time to make a friend.. maybe turn up at church a few weeks running and someone will start to recognise you and talk to you..
Or.. I made a good friend through a support group.. maybe find a local support group you could join. One friend highly reccomends Emotions Anonomous that I think are in Canada.
Are there any groups in your area you could join.. I know I often see ad's in doctors surgery and places for local photography groups, or cooking groups..
maybe even an evening class (take something for fun that you think you might enjoy, you're more likely to stick to it)But, it wont be easy at first, and you'll try to run away from it I think.. so push yourself and make yourself attand things so you get to meet more people.. the more people you meet the more likely you are to find someone you click with
