My therapist's office as of yesterday implemented a rule that he can't greet me by name in the waiting room. I didn't notice of course, as I rarely use names and don't notice if others do, but it really bothers him. I wonder if I could sign a waiver allowing him to say, "Ready, Dinah?". Somehow I don't think my privacy is in too much jeapardy. If someone knows me well enough to know me as Dinah, they probably know my face as well.
Have you ever run into someone you know at your shrink's? I did at my old detested pdoc's office. Sat down and who was across the chair but an old high school classmate who apparently saw him for therapy as well as meds (my condolences). It was awkward for a sec, then we both simultaneously realized that the other couldn't very well think badly of us for being there, and just started chatting, including about the doc.
