Has anyone seen the movie "The Hours"? I liked it in spite of several things that annoyed me such as Nicole Kidman's awful prosthetic nose. Why was that necessary? Several of the photographs of Virginia Woolf were attractive certainly not grotesque as the Nicole Kidman impersonation.
I thought the movie showed depression very realistically and suicidal obsession in a quiet constant grim true to life way. And the impact on other lives of each decision.
I found a great site about V Woolfe's mental illness

I sat and read through most of it after I came home from the movie. It was fascinating. She was 59 when she killed herself so she lived with this for decades. Quite the role model I suppose-surviving that long I mean not finally going ahead with it. I guess that's what impressed me most about the movie-the way the idea of suicide was always there not just making a dramatic guest appearance in the end.Read Mrs. Dalloway before you go see it if you can.
