My pdoc is like that too! I don't think I've ever seen him smile.
My therapist does have a good sense of humor. But I've terrified him with my ability to sense when he isn't being sincere, so when I ask him something he is very careful to phrase his answer so it is the complete truth. It leads to some funny responses, I can tell you. And we do laugh about those.
I guess he just wasn't up to his usual form in rephrasing things yesterday. He usually does it quite well. :)
