The situation:
Okay, driving back on I-95 tonight, I get off at my exit which is directly across from the shopping plaza which contains the grocery store and pharmacy that I use. However, there is construction workers, machines and orange cones, everywhere blocking the entrance (they are apparently paving the roads). My initial reaction:
Well god damn it, how the hell am I suppossed to pull into the parking lot? I need cat food, something chocolate and bottled water.
The drama:After nearly getting into two accidents trying to manauever a very badly designed traffic plan (signs are pointing the wrong way, the construction trucks themselves are blocking the route) and getting wrong directions three times for the back entrance to the shopping plaza (driving around for 20 minutes, remember, the plaza was directly across the street!) Meanwhile it has gotten dark, the store closes in ten minutes and instead of using over head lights to see what they are doing, the construction workers are using their truck headlights, and basically blinding motorists trying to navigate.
The question:
I pull up to a police officer and basically lose my shit, telling him that this is the WORST situation I have ever seen an intersection be in, that I want his badge number and the name of the person in charge of this little escapade (sprinkle in some swear words for good measure) and it suddenly dawns on me that I could be on my way to the back of a police car like those characters on the show COPS. I drive off in a big huff like a crazy person, finally find the back entrance to the shopping plaza and then proceed to confront the store manager standing on the other side of the entrance trying to tell me they're closed. After walking in the exit, I get in the manager's face and tell him that if he had some signs up out there, people would know where the hell to go! He tells me that he can't be held responsible for construction outside and I respond (5'2" but loud voice all the same) that I can't be held responsible for every moron in the world preventing me from arriving at this store before it closed. I walk around grabbing things off the shelf that I don't need, basically daring him to throw me out or call the police.Slowly, I begin to wonder if the new dose of Wellbutrin has anything to do with this...
