Where are you from? Yes, I'se a long time pote. Been this way my whole life. I have been publishing (and reading sporadically) for twenty years, but mostly in Baltimore/DC lit mags. I have been sending out steadily since January (NY resolution), and I've had a few "almosts" so far. But I'm plugging away anyway. I'm not a sensitive type (in this way, anyway), so I have no problem with the rejection letters. I just spike 'em on the spindle and send a new stack out. (I used to be a poetry editor of a newspaper and a lit mag, so I know that rejection is more about your personal taste than what's good. Of course, I only rejected the bad stuff, but I have good taste!)
This poem was in a DIY book--I can't remember what it's called. Everyone brings 100 copies of a poem, and the books get assembly-line stapled, then sold.
