Even if you are one of the 10 to 20 percent for whom we don't have treatment, keep trying, because tomorrow, or next week, or the next week, or next year, we might have a treatment. Isn't it worth it to stick around and find out?
If you feel discouraged reading these accounts of failed therapy and futile searches for help, they are here to illustrate the importance of PERSERVERANCE [emphasis mine], of asking questions, of arming yourself with all the information you can so these things won't happen to you.
You will read about many different experiences throughout this book, some encouraging, some not. Remember that what is only flotsam to one can be a life raft for another. The experiences of these people may provide questions for you to ask you own doctor, to help you be an educated mental health comsumer...

Tossing this out there for folks to know that sometimes any resource can be the one that helps.
