Dear Alii,
My therapist thought it might be helpful for me after an auto accident. I don't think it did any good, but didn't do any harm either (that I'm aware of). Subsequently I did some extended research and came to the conclusion that it's in the realm of psuedo-science. Some people may gain something, but who's to say it's not the placebo effect? It's bit difficult to do double blind studies. All you have to lose is your money (quote from my daughter doing researh on magnetic therapy in an alternative medicine class).
You might want to check out quwack (sp?) watch to see what they have to say. Haven't been there in ages. For me, cognitive restructuring actually helps more, and I can do that myself. It also helps me to focus as much as possible on the positive things in the present and the future. Yes, I still have flashbacks, on other issues that I've never talked to anyone about, but they've diminished over the years.
Hope this helps,
Chris A.
