It's not as convulated as as others might be implying. I think it's pretty obvious.
You were simply innocently asking for other's observations & experiences to make a comparison with your own - helping you to understand the nature of depression & the support system people have & how it affects their ability to lead their lives. It's human nature to be curious of how other people compare to us.
I saw innocent curiousity only & felt no pressure or 'ulterior motives' in your asking, just as Dr. Bob indicated; there was no pressure. Those people who didn't feel like sharing (such as myself) simply didn't offer.
Milgram exerted pressure on the teachers (& others) to do something under duress that they didn't really want to do. You didn't exert any pressure on us. Milgram did his research under false pretenses. There's NO pretense in your asking us.
Don't worry, Janelle. Your question really didn't offend anyone, or if it did, I'm sure they mistook your reasons for asking.
