He's just as much to blame!
Where was he, mentally and physically, in the past seven years that he was *not* able to recognize the symptoms of someone about to go mad?You know, of course, that he's a NASA Engineer, and this doesn't reflect too kindly on NASA (bear with me). Could it be that he put his job before his family? Even so, when you live with a person for seven whole years, you're bound you pick up some inkling of dark clouds on the horizon. I suspect that he was cognizant of his wife's mental condition, past and present, yet was too passive (or stupid) to take the bull by the horns and do something that would have prevented this horribleness.
The wife is guilty for killing her children, but, let's face it, for all intents and purposes, it takes a minimum of two to raise a family; i.e., a "father" and a "mother," so where was he (in a broad sense) in helping to raise these children?
I feel sorry both these individuals, but let's share the blame here.
