I have the same problem if you are still reading. I have found that the SSRI's take away my social anxiety but induce cycling. The anxiolytics need to be kept low or in conjunction with lithium and estrogen deficiency they cause dulling. What's happenning with you now. Please write.
> I have had bipolar disorder since my teens (I'm 50). I have been seeing the same psychiatrist for 15 years. Recently he suggested that I may have social anxiety. (The time lag was because I talk very little and, at his request, now supply him with a daily journal.) Well, to cut this short, I do have generalized social anxiety (since very early childhood) concomitant with bipolar disorder. The combination has been devastating. There's rarely been a moment when I've been well. I'd be on the streets if it weren't for a supportive husband. Presently I'm trying to succeed in a graduate program in Entomology. (This semester is absolutely the pits.) Presently I'm taking seroquel, wellbutrin, celexa and thyroid (BP) and klonopin (SA). My question: is there any published information on these two disorders (significantly debilitating) occurring concurrently? Does anyone "out there" struggle with both BP and generalized SA?
