There is no irony in this situation because Dr. Bob has a different status than the participants here.
The real reason I started the thread was because Dr. Bob went through a period of changing pictures on the board every day. At that time, a lot of participants focused into his pictures. There was one where the picture only consisted of his elbow and people made fun of him for that. So, this time when he changed his picture, I felt that I needed to at least keep with the tradition of commenting on the change in scenery.
On a more scientific note...
The reason why this is not an ironic situation is because of the question: On this board, is Dr. Bob an object or a person? A very complicated question psychologically.Just think, you are in your therapist's office and you are free-associating. Your habit is to fixate your eyes on a brown, three stage bookcase right across from where you sit of the sofa. You always fixate your eyes upon this object when you free-associate in every session. Then, one day you come in and the brown bookcase is gone or moved to a location in your periphery vision. You will notice this change in a very unsettling fashion. How you respond to it is another matter. Anyhow, the point is that Dr. Bob's picture on top of the page is that bookcase. The fact that I responded to the change is worthy of self-analysis. Golden opportunity to gauge my well being :o)
