Wow, I just went back and read a few comments under the video on YouTube. People *did* take this seriously. Of course, it's a tiny sample, so not really representative of anything... Huh.

I don't get it. I've watched Mr. O'Reilly for a few years, several times a week, and you get to know a person's mannerisms, facial tics even - a lot of stuff. I've seen him appear somber, outraged, disgusted, impatient, confused, bemused, arrogant, indignant, annoyed, amused, uncomfortable - and more I can't recall. I've definitely seen him play-acting and being silly-sarcastic, too, like over this past year when he does a segment once a week with Dennis Miller.

Based on this, I really only saw a tongue-in-cheek routine with Mr. ColBEAR (I like the French pronunciation way better, so there, Bill!) - not one serious word. (Although, I would say Bill got mildly impatient at some points, and he was wanting to stay in control. This is par for the course with all guests, though. I always figure, "It's his show.") Television with its close-ups and relentless cameras-on-you, doesn't allow for hiding of much body language or anything. Like that latter part when he yelled 'are you Colbert or Colbear?' - well to me it's clear he's putting on an act - Bill - he could hardly keep from cracking a smile.

Perceptions are so intriguing - they really make you pause and think.

I do like Colbert a lot - I always forget to watch his show, though.
