I think its like alcholol. Some people can drink a little once in a while, and it doesn't become a problem. But for those who have been a freind, family member, or aquaintaince of a chronic alchoholic, you would think that that it is the devils drink.
I would like it if the indication for marajuanna was extended for other indications. If a doctor feels that medicinal marajuanna could help a person sleep, restore appeitie, or reduce anxiety during a major depressive episode, then why not?
I've seen people take benzodiazapines to the point of being hung over all the time, but that doesn't mean they can't be used appropriately when neccessary.
