Sorry about that Dunder. I shouldn't have mentioned the man.
At the last election here the ALP raised the issue of trust, as in 'can you trust the PM to tell the truth?'. The PM's no slouch and made 'trust' the centrepiece of his campaign. (This broadens the moral issue and makes the voters complicit.) He was saying something like 'you know what I stand for'. The 'lies' were taken for granted; none cared very much, but we have become densensitised, I think.
