Interesting dilema

Public housing to screen for criminal backgrounds?

Private apartments already do.

Where is a criminal to go?

And more important, where were they all living? Where did they come from?

I'm not trying to be mean - I know that it's a slow process and people who want to help rebuild should have a place to live - and that it should take precedence over "free" housing.

It was just something about the way it was said. Mix that with what other people said about Katrina being great urban renewal and it sounded (to me) almost like gloating to be rid of the "rifraf."
