crappy politics.
this is why i don't vote
because i don't understand the system...
apparantly germany had an election round the same time as us
and we are using a similar (if not an identical) system.
and they have found themselves in a similar position to us...i don't know what to say...
lots of people voted green because they thought that a (party) vote for green was the same as a (party) vote for labour - because they thought a coalition between green and labour was assured. in fact, they wanted to vote green to give something approximating an environmental conscience to labour...
but given that it looks like labour can't get the majority...
and given the crucial role that united futures gets to play (with respect to whether labour can get the confidence and supply vote) united futures pretty much get to dictate that the greens and labour do not form a coalition.
the greens are working on them...
trouble is the greens are perceived as being opposed to business (gee i wonder why).crappy crap crap
there may have to be another election if this doesn't get sorted...
and the government is likely to be unstable which means another election could be called at any time...
i don't really understand...
i don't see the point in a confidence and supply vote.
the people have voted for the present government so i don't see why there has to be one of those.
and i reckon people should stand for what they personally believe if they got voted in as a person to represent their electorate.
and i reckon people should tow the party line if they got voted in in virtue of being on the party list.and bills should be voted on.
why does it all have to be so f*cking complicated???????
grumble grumble whine whine.
