I actually disagree and can understand why he blocked Toph. You said you've seen worse "by members of political panels or political pundits and commentators on the national news!" That doesn't matter on this website. As I've been learning the last few weeks, there is a fine line between a little sarcasm and being offensive. I think that is what happened here. Toph was very sarcastic in his comments, but he went overboard with them. Bush is our president whether you like him or not. That office demands respect even if you don't respect the person who has the title. Toph was disprespectful and his comments could very easily be offensive to anyone who supports Bush's decisions.
I could have been just as sarcastic with my responses to Toph, but I chose my words wisely so as not to be offensive. I'm an EXTREMELY sarcastic person, but while on this board there are a lot of times where I have to hold that side of me back. And if I can't, I don't post. Sarcasm is often very offensive to someone. That's what makes it so funny.
There are some posts on this site that are just as sarcastic, and I'm surprised haven't been stopped because of the same reason as here (i.e. Tom Cruise threads). Dr. Bob is human. He'll miss some things and go overboard on others. I don't think he was wrong in this case...IMHO.
