Foot and Mouth Scare

A letter was sent requesting lowered taxes OR ELSE the writer said they were going to release a vial of foot and mouth virus over on Waiheke island (not far from the mainland at all).
National panic.
Dairy is out biggest export.
Biggest import of beef is the US
It would cause billions of dollars of damage to the economy.
We'd be screwed basically.
Haven't found any evidence that it has been done yet.
All the cows on the island are being tested.
The writer plans to release a vial somewhere on the mainland on Friday if the demands aren't met.

massey university has graduation ceremonies this week....
