No, you're absolutely right. I *am* self-absorbed, but as you say, it comes with the territory. I suppose it's analogous to the person with toothache who can think of nothing but the pain.

Thanks. The literacy compliments are very much appreciated; I had the start of a very promising career as a writer/lawyer before the cognitive dysfunction struck. It's all very demoralising - which brings me back to the self-absorption...
